About Our Foundation

Originally founded in 1978, Haywood Healthcare Foundation has served the citizens of Haywood County for more than three decades. We love our community and want all stakeholders to feel they have access to the healthcare they need. Our mission is to improve the health status of Haywood County, its individuals and families through educational programs, grants, scholarships and leadership opportunities. We know that quality healthcare is essential to a productive life. It is our goal as a foundation to assist individuals and agencies in a number of ways, all with the ultimate goal of fostering a healthier community for our present and future generations. We believe in combining efforts in order to maximize the well-being of those in our community. To achieve our missions and goals, we partner with community agencies and nonprofits. This partnership includes working together to ascertain healthcare needs in Haywood County, determining qualified applicants, and funding services.

People We Serve

Our work

The Haywood Healthcare Foundation prides itself on the work we accomplish for the people of our community. Our mission is focused on individuals and families and the ways in which we can directly impact their health. The Foundation, including its volunteers, donors and partners, combine efforts to accomplish the goals set forth in our mission statement.

Our Events

We hold several well-supported and anticipated fundraising events annually: The Annual Golf Tournament and Gala is on Thursday of the last week in August and the Annual Power of Pink is on the last Saturday in September. Our community truly embraces our fundraising efforts as they have become traditions for many in Haywood County. Proceeds from these events go to select healthcare initiatives, projects and grants chosen annually by the Board of Trustees, depending on the unmet healthcare needs in our community.

Our Initiatives

We have three areas of focus through which we strive to achieve our goals of encouraging healthier living for residents of Haywood County. Healthcare: We focus on unmet healthcare needs for individuals and families in Haywood County. Education: We provide scholarships to high school students and community college nursing students seeking careers in clinical and technical healthcare professions. Community Partnerships: Along with providing grants, we collaborate with agencies and non-profit organizations to increase impact and achieve improved healthcare for the people of Haywood County.
