January 2026
To: Haywood Health Foundation Supporters and Friends,
As HAYWOOD HEALTH FOUNDATION (HHF) begins its new year of activity in 2026, we want to highlight a number of our organization’s accomplishments during 2025 that were geared towards meeting HHF’s mission. That mission is to “IMPROVE THE HEALTH AND WELL BEING OF HAYWOOD COUNTY RESIDENTS”. These accomplishments were in no small way attributable to your continued support of HHF,
and for that we say a big THANK YOU! Some specifics of our accomplishments are:
Grant Program: HHF approved and issued grants totaling over $430,000 to seventeen (17) nonprofit Healthcare and Local Government organizations within Haywood County, all of which are targeted at helping to achieve the mission of HHF.
Scholarship Program: Five (5) scholarships totaling $11,000 were awarded to Haywood County students who have continued their education in healthcare. Four (4) of those scholarships went to students who were entering their second year of the Nursing Program at Haywood Community College, and one (1) went to a Haywood County High School senior to continue her education in healthcare.
End-of-Life Program: Funding support totaling $34,628 was provided for family members of lost loved ones to participate in Grief Support Sessions, Children Grief Camp, as well as Music Therapy sessions for Hospice patients at Haywood County Outpatient Nursing homes.
Mammogram Support Program: The annual HHF Power of Pink Race/Walk event held in the Frog Level District of Waynesville attracted more than 300 participants and raised over $23,000 to provide mammogram screening along with follow up sessions to uninsured and needy women and men of Haywood County only.
The HHF Board, as identified in this letter, is an entire volunteer staff who truly believe in HHF’s mission, as mentioned above, and we all work diligently toward accomplishing that goal!
The HHF Board and Executive Administrator truly thank all of our event volunteers, as well as our donors and friends who have contributed toward our successes in 2025 and sincerely wish you a Happy and Prosperous Year throughout 2026!
For anyone interested in contributing towards HHF’s future successes in meeting our mission to improve the Health and Well being of Haywood County. Residents, please send your donation to:
