The Haywood Healthcare Foundation held a kickoff event for its 25th Anniversary Charitable Annual Golf Tournament and Gala on Thursday, June 2.
The evening was a tribute to HHF sponsors and donors who give of their energy, time and resources in support of HHF’s mission of improving healthcare for individuals and families in Haywood County through educational programs, grants, scholarships and leadership opportunities.
The tournament will take place Aug. 30-31 at Maggie Valley Club & Resort, Waynesville Inn Golf Resort and Spa and Laurel Ridge Country Club. Following the tournament, the annual gala will be held Aug. 31 at Waynesville Inn Golf Resort.
Net proceeds from the 25th Anniversary Charitable Annual Golf Tournament & Gala will be used for Heath First Community Grants and the Unrestricted Endowment Fund. Co-Chairs for the 2016 Golf and Gala are Fred and Norma Waring.
The kickoff evening’s program included a review of HHR’s accomplishments since transitioning from the Haywood Regional Medical Center Foundation to Haywood Healthcare Foundation following the sale of the hospital in August 2014.
The Annual Report and successes of 2015 were celebrated. Twenty-seven grants or scholarships were provided throughout the county, thanks to the sponsors and donors last year.
This year, HHF expects even more requests for assistance with unmet health-related needs within Haywood County. A request for proposals for grants will be released in the form of an RFP in late early fall.
